LIMA 2011 Day 4 & 5

This is a UAV collaboration between few companies in the world including our CTRM UST from melaka.
Still using a propeller at the back to thrust the uav.
At last, i can see INTISAR 400 in front of my eyes. It is hard to find any resources about this helicopter uav either in the internet and youtube.

But still, this is not our own made helicopter uav. its ok, as long we are going to learn from it, who cares.

Very very sharp aermacchi model.

A target drone from sapura. Never seen it before in any website or in the internet. This target drone use mini turbine engine to thrust itself in the sky.

Below is a picture about the sapura's UAV that have been tested i thought for many years ago. Only now i can see it in front of my eyes. a very good machine with its camera payload.

LIMA 2011 Travel Log - Day 1

Salam all,

today i want to share what i have done in langkawi especially on my travel for today.

Today, me, and my friends, theree of us, have traveled from USM to Kuala Perlis by chartered taxi from parit buntar. It costed us RM190 for almost 2.5 hours trip. The driver is a malay man called pak osman. He arrived at USM aerospace on 8 am. and we started our journey at 8.15 am and arrived at Kuala Perlis Jetty at 10.45 am.

After we have arrived to Kuala Perlis Jetty port, we went to Ferry Ventures, a company that sell ferry ticket. We have boarded the earliest ticket time that is on 10.45 am. The ferry travel from Kuala Perlis Jetty to Langkawi takes about 1 hour.

So we have arrived at Langkawi Jetty at 11.45 am. After that, we continue our task to reobtain our van at Tanjung Lembung, the place where cargo ferry dock. So, as planned, we have taked a taxi, that cost us about RM16 for one way, of course this is for LIMA rate. The location is not faraway, around 10 minutes from Kuala Perlis Jetty.

So along the way, we chit chat with the taxi driver about Langkawi. One of the points that we have discussed is about buying an import car in Langkawi. Everyone knows it right, a duty free tax for those who bought car from langkawi. But the car have to be stay at Langkawi for several years, then the tax is reduced along the time if the owner wants to bring it to the peninsular Malaysia. So the point is, how about a used car, how will it be? the taxi driver explained to us that for used car, a 2-3 years car is usually in good condition and for buyers, they should look for this car. And they can bring the car to peninsular, with a low tax applied to the car, as the tax is refered to the date of the car when its first time bought by the first owner. Wow, that so great, in my mind, a toyota wish, with a 6-7 years of age is still in good condition with a high deduction of tax for those years, will have a big less for such car.

So we arrived at Tanjung Lembong, Langkawi Marin Department. After we check with Wantas Shipping the availability of our car, we take our van keys and signed some Custom form, the we take pass from the post guard. And then, we meet with a women officer that control the gate to have a permission to take our van. Acces granted, so we take our van, and then, went to a weighing station to weight our van. After that, we drove out of the department after we take our passes from the post guard.

Then, we drove to MRSM Langkawi, the place where we will stay for the whole week. After check in to our apartment, and have some rest and solat, we went to have a lunch. After that we went to Mahsuri International Exhibtion Centre (MIEC) that is beside the airport.

We have registered our exhibition to registration counter. We obtain our individual passes and van passes. AlhamduLILLAH no problem with this procedure. After we unloaded our exhibtion things, me and saiful prepare the exhibition while hasfizan went to jetty port to fetch our VIP delegates. AlhamduLILLAH the places is not so far away.

After we have finished our exhibition preparations on 630 pm, 7 of us now, went back to MRSM Langkawi and will stay here for our first night in Langkawi.

p/s: miss you both Zakiah and Naqib. take care...

LIMA 2011 - Travel Log - Day 0

Assalamualaikum semua,

credit to LIMA 2011 facebook for this image
today i want to share an exciting activities that i will do in this week (early december 2011) that is attending the LIMA 2011 in Langkawi as an exhibitor. Wow, such an experience to be there during the international event that includes trade day and public day.

I still remember the last time that i went to LIMA 2007 with my friends from USM and LIMA 2003 when i am in my first year in my studies along with my friends, syukri jaafar, zulzaidan and jimmy.  But starting tomorrow, i will go with my colleague as an exhibitor.

For this trip, i will go as an exhibitor for our school that is school of aerospace engineering, USM. I and my friend will setup our exhibition booth there.

I hope our work there will run smoothly as for this morning, my friend and i have sent our rented van that are full with our exhibition material and hope there will be no problem there. As i want to share, we have rented puntun from wantas shipping, a very convenient cargo company to sent cargo to langkawi. I suggest if anyone want to sent their car to Langkawi, you should use wantas shipping service. We paid about RM550 for return ticket from kuala kedah to langkawi.
So, i hope, there will be no problems during our work there, InsyaALLAH. Ya ALLAH, please give smoothness to our job there. AMIN...

for my wife and son, please take care as we will see in 2 weeks time...i love you both very much.
